A product of the dusty soils of the Barossa Valley, the Pure Love Wines Estate Shiraz Series is the creation of Canadian born and Napa Valley based wine visionary Jayson Woodbridge. Rarely, if ever, will you find a Barossa vineyard owner on a walk of his property without a dog and with good reason. Australia is home to seven of the ‘deadliest species’ of snake in the world. Barossa Jack is named after Jayson’s trusty Jack Russell; his first line of defense from said snakes when on ‘walkabout’ in his vineyards. In Barossa Jack, once again, Woodbridge has brought to market a ‘wine of value’ with exceptional quality through hand crafting and cutting yields per acre by half, if not more. Always the Maverick, it appears, once again, that Woodbridge has raised the bar by raising the standards for a wine priced under $20. To know the man means the price of the wine will never dictate his passion. Pure Love: Rich red soils are embedded with limestone and planted with very, very old vines. Exceptionally low yields contribute to consistently ripe fruit and a strong sense of place. Cool fermentation is employed to capture every ounce of the wine’s essence; both wild yeasts and French yeast strains were used in the fermentation process. A touch of French oak offered richness and tannins without overwhelming the heart of the wine. Unfiltered and unfined, the Pure Love Wines offer nothing short of purity of Barossa Shiraz in a package and price that everyone can afford. |
