The wine has a dense, purple core with a brilliant red rim. Black fruit is abundant in the nose followed closely by anise, chocolate and very pleasant touches of spice. Soft, lush and fragrant, Layer Cake Malbec is an intense mouthful of fruit-driven wine, finishing with very soft tannins. Delicious!

Winemaker Notes:

The fruit for Layer Cake Malbec comes from a vineyard that is flanking the Mendoza River in Argentina, a rocky terrain, strikingly similar to that of Chateauneuf du Pape in the Rhone Valley. This, our first vintage Layer Cake Malbec, was harvested nearly a month to six weeks after all other neighboring vineyards, a crucial element to the wine's quality.
