The fruit for the enclosed Chardonnay was sourced from the Carneros region of Napa Valley, located at the southern tip of Napa, near San Pablo Bay. Hand picked and one hundred percent stainless steel fermented, this stylish wine reminds me of a cru Chablis, which also features aromas of stone fruit and pineapple, and a flinty stonewash mineral finish.
This Joseph Carr Napa Valley Chardonnay evolved from a real passion for the wines of Pomerol and St. Emilion, where they stand apart as wines with an elegance and softness that are approachable today. In Napa Valley, they sought out growers from Howell Mt. and Oakville, specifically with this style in mind. This limited bottling reflects what great vineyards might yield and has a European influence and inspiration.
