LUXURY EVERYONE CAN AFFORD
Layer Cake is produced by Jayson Woodbridge and his winemaking team from Napa Valley Cult Cabernet Hundred Acre and has been called “the ultimate in affordable luxury” by Anthony Giglio of Food and Wine Magazine.
A unique wine brand with multiple country AVA’s Layer Cake is handmade in some of Jayson Woodbridge’s favorite wine regions around the world. Each Layer Cake wine is crafted implementing the same small winery techniques and quality standards for which Jayson is well known. Jayson and his winemaking team work with small family winegrowers rigorously selecting only the very best fruit to produce a Shiraz from Australia’s Barossa Valley, a Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina, an old vine Primitivo, aka Zinfandel, from Puglia, Italy. A Layer Cake California Central Coast Chardonnay and a California Cabernet will be released in 2010.
The name Layer Cake is a symbol of something handmade with care and was inspired by Jayson Woodbridge’s grandparents. His grandfather told Jayson wine was like his grandmother’s layer cake; the layers of soils under the vine producing layers of rich flavors, aromatics and textures in the wine. Layers of chocolate, mocha, berry fruit and spices, just like grandmother’s layer cake. The Layer Cake name is reminiscent of something comforting, rich and delicious.
Jayson’s quest is to craft wines that are stunningly good, yet very affordable; exquisite wines that can be enjoyed everyday. Since its inception, Layer Cake has enjoyed an incredibly positive reception from wine lovers and the wine press alike because it has accomplished just that - Luxury everyone can afford.
